Future Pacing LinkedIn Features for Lawyers

Future Pacing LinkedIn for Lawyers in 2019

As you may have noticed, this first month of 2019 has been all about LinkedIn newest features and how to leverage these to grow your law practice, position yourself more efficiently online, or build out your network generally.

In this last segment for this month of LinkedIn’s newest features, I’m going to future pace. Meaning, I’ll give you a heads up on preparation for 2019 LinkedIn trends based on several interviews, podcasts conducted and given, and hundreds of hours worth of research from this past year.

In 2018, Linkedin turned out to be one of the biggest game changers for anyone with an audience on LinkedIn – and well beyond the B2B span, now also B2C!

As mentioned in these last few blog posts, LinkedIn added a new user interface, voicemail, a native video feature including editing and subtitle capability for company pages, now called Linked Pages.

Here’s what I’m sure is in store for us in 2019….

  1. CUSTOMER CENTRIC MARKETING

This will continue to play a much more significant role as AI continues to evolve the digital landscape, and shape the future of most online engagements.

  1. VOICE SEARCH MARKETING

We know for a fact that all social media channels are prioritizing content that is written for natural language processing (and less for algorithm ranking – thank goodness – because who wants to speak, message or type in robotically?) The ability to do a voice search for a contact or prospective contact may well surface in Linkedin this coming year – I have heard from good authorities who have been spot on with their predictions these last few years…

So, even more efficient, even more time saved, even more mobile and why is this important? Now, you have more time to focus on what you’re really good at – lawyering!

  1. VIDEO CONSUMPTION – WILL SKYROCKET!

I was just a little bit excited about the video talk I chatted it up everything video on episode #33! This isn’t just my prediction, but verifiable by most online authorities, and yes, LI itself!

The Washington Post is predicting that over 80% of all online traffic will be consumed via video!

And, why not? 5G is coming, and it is very real. Meaning, this fifth generation of cellular mobile communications will doing nothing short of changing our business in one way or another.

We’ll experience higher data rates, reduced latency, higher energy savings, costs reduced, and higher system capacity and massive device connectivity!  For those of you with AT&T, your in luck, as they were the first to launch a network in 19 cities just as we entered 2019. Now, with lower latency and much much faster data rates video will be darn near seamless – and about as close as you can get to showing up in person.  And, by now, if you are following me here on TSL you KNOW how I feel about being personable – the more the better!

Speaking of which, come February we’re going to dive deep into how you as a lawyer must show up with more personality, with more value, and we’re going to implode the misconception of stiff, buttoned up lawyering. So if you’re ready for some myth-busting strategy and growth, I invite you to join me to recover, reinstitute and reveal the best you can be as a lawyer, and most importantly, as a human not just doing but being!
