Voice Your Lawyer Self to Personalize and Connect

Voice Your Lawyer Self to Personalize and Connect

Last week I began covering some of the newest updates to LinkedIn – and they are taking off, so get in here and find out how you can leverage it to build your influence whether to grow your law practice or referral network.

VOICE MESSAGES: A few months ago, LinkedIn rolled out its voice message feature within their app platform giving the ability to send voice messages within a private message. Why is this important? So, for those attorneys who are slightly time-strapped (no, I don’t know of one who has all the time in the world!), you can now easily and efficiently record a message and hit send, rather than typing out an entire message. Safe to say that sending off 10 personalized voice messages will save time over typing in 10 messages – right?

And, my favorite benefit of all – because you KNOW how much I believe in personalizing your messaging and how important it is especially for lawyers that have this bad rap for being less than warm, fuzzy and inviting – is the level of personalization you can have with connections in your network!

Finally, most people and attorneys (yes there is overlap) are not even aware of this feature or how to use it, so guess what? Use it and stand out, and break out of that sea of sameness. Cut through the online noise by offering up a live voice!

Currently, the voicemail message limit is at 60 seconds, but I suspect this will change (and may well extend especially for those of us on one of LinkedIn’s premium levels such as Sales Navigator).  Want to find out how to this voicemail feature works, how to implement, and start applying it, reach out to me via Linkedin.com/in/vivecahess and I’ll be happy to have a personalized voice engagement over the good old fashion phone!

Here’s how to use it…
Open the LinkedIn messenger within the app

Tap the microphone icon in the keyboard

Tap and hold the microphone in the circle to record voice message

Release finger from microphone icon to send

To cancel the voice message before sending, just slide your finger away from the microphone icon while you’re holding it down, said the post.

The app is available on iOS and Android, as well as on the web. Voice messaging is expected to reach all members globally in the next few weeks, said the post.

Takeaways:

  • Offering your voice will provide a much more personable way of connecting that will set you apart!
  • LinkedIn’s new voice messaging feature lets users send voice recordings up to one minute long through the LinkedIn mobile app.
  • The feature is perfect for business pros traveling or multi-tasking, allowing users to speak long messages faster than they could type.

Thanks for joining me and let’s connect next week as I future pace Linkedin, giving you some sneak peeks into what is rumored from highly reputable sources (ie insiders) as coming up for LinkedIn updates in 2019…
